We are at the top of the waitlist and are standing by to bring her in at a moments notice should the hospital have a cancellation!

10/1: Bones is a young cat rescued from 134th and Amsterdam, where she was found sitting in a puddle of her own blood, unable to move. Even though we had just said goodbye to Shelly, paid our balance on previous medical cases, and had tried our best to stop intake… seeing her picture was a call we couldn’t refuse. So we headed to the scene and immediately took action. Even while laying in pain, Bones was still friendly and seeking attention. We knew we needed to help.
Vets confirmed her injuries were substantial- a shattered right hock and a broken/displaced left elbow. With these specific injuries we were left with two choices- humane euthanasia due to quality of life, or an orthopedic consult. The amazing Hospital of Veterinary Surgery gave us a free consult- and Dr. Raske believed he could fix her left elbow and amputate her back right leg to give her a chance at a normal life. With Bones’ amazing spirit, playful personality, and inspiring resilience… the choice was clear- we are going to give her this chance!
The surgery estimate is between $6000-$9000, all depends on how things go the day of. This is a normal price for an orthopedic specialty surgery of this type, and we will also be getting a 501c3 discount. We are looking to raise just $1500 to help us cover the deposit. We are already over half way there!
Thank you for supporting Bones and her second chance. We love her so much and can’t wait for her to start healing!
