Update 9/4: Shelly crossed the rainbow bridge on September 4th. It was 2 weeks after rescue. She was an amazing and special cat, and also our first loss as a rescue group. Her story, though sad, truly did have a happy ending. We loved Shelly immediately and were honored to be the ones to help her. Thank you to everyone who donated to her fund and sent supplies from her wishlist. Her last two weeks on earth really showed her (and us) how kind humans can be.

Update 9a 8/28: We are amazed at the level of support for Shelly. Her story has truly touched the world. She has been diagnosed with terminal and aggressive cancer, her major issues are all caused by a large and inoperable tumor on the left side of her face. Shelly suffered for so long outside, it is our honor and privelege to take care of her and show her love as she eventually transitions across the rainbow bridge. She has been adopted by our founder, Kelly, and will know only love, comfort, and care for the remainder of her days. We are going to keep Shelly’s Fund alive as a way to help the other suffering cats on the street. She is one of the lucky ones who got to experience the miracle of being rescued.
Update 7p 8/23: We have hit our first and second goal!! With over $1000 raised we are well on our way to helping Shelly to a better life. No donation will be considered excess- we anticipate a lot of expenses in her journey. Thank you for your support!!Thanks for finding out more information on how to donate to Shelly’s Fund!
Original Text 8/22: Shelly (named after her finder that asked for help) was rescued from Washington Heights. Seeing her was very emotional- she was a soul abandoned by the world: alone, injured, and waiting to die. We couldn’t leave her behind even though we don’t have space (we can find some) and we don’t have funds (that’s where you come in!)
Shelly will likely need an enucleation, some kind of dental/mouth surgery, and xrays. This is going to cost a lot of money! We are trying to raise up to $1000 to help cover these expenses and prepare her for a bright and healthy future. We are not using a fundraising platform because we need these funds ASAP. Venmo and Zelle are the best way to contribute to her fundraiser, however paypal is also good! We will keep this page and our instagram updated with the progress and hopefully we can hit $1000 very soon!
